The 2026–27 Rosemary Beach Sculpture Exhibition (RBSE) marks the Fifth juried showcase of contemporary outdoor sculpture displayed throughout the town of Rosemary Beach. As the signature cultural event of this quintessential New Urbanism community, the exhibition highlights the town’s commitment to art, design, and public engagement. Nestled along the Gulf on scenic Highway 30A in northwest Florida—Rosemary Beach has earned national recognition, including being named by Architectural Digest as home to one of the 30 most beautiful main streets in America.

New Urbanism communities, sometimes referred to as Neo-Traditional towns, are designed according to principles that predate suburban sprawl. These communities emphasize walkability, with interconnected streets, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, and thoughtfully designed public spaces centered around a vibrant town core. They are places where people can seamlessly live, play, relax and gather, fostering a sense of connection and shared identity. Public art has long played an essential role in traditional towns, art in public spaces helps define a community’s character.

The RBSE continues this tradition in a distinctly modern way. By placing innovative sculptural works within the town’s carefully designed environment, the exhibition invites both residents and visitors to engage with art in their everyday surroundings. These works not only enhance the aesthetic experience of the town but also encourage viewers to reflect on their own perspectives, histories, and connections to place.

Ultimately, the Rosemary Beach Sculpture Exhibition serves as a source of inspiration—demonstrating how contemporary artistic expression can enrich community life while honoring the enduring value of shared public spaces.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this sculpture exhibition is to enhance the quality and excellence of Rosemary Beach through complementing its architectural heritage and natural beauty with outdoor sculpture; and, to contribute to the cultural arts environment in our county and surrounding areas.
