Rosemary Beach Sculpture Exhibition Photo by Troy Ruprecht

2019–20

EVENTS

Four events led up to the opening of the 2019-20 Rosemary Beach Sculpture Exhibition. We hope you enjoy these photos that captured moments from each.

The first 20 photos shown below are from the Patrons Party. Thanks so much to the Pearl Hotel’s David Merryman and his attentive staff for their generous sponsorship of this event. Held on the Rooftop, it couldn’t have been more perfect for the occasion. Everything from the entertainment, to the food and signature drinks served, to the table decorations, even the weather and the stunning sunset all made for a gala evening to show appreciation to our generous donors.

The next three photos are from the Artists Panel Discussion. Five of the sixteen artists were on hand to join in the conversation facilitated by Wendy Rodrigue Magnus, author and one of the judges for the juried exhibition. Attendees heard from the artists on a variety of subjects including their personal backgrounds and how they became sculptors, to details about their particular piece in the exhbition and their creative process, to outdoor art in general. “Outdoor sculpture is a speed bump for the brain,” said Chris Itsell. Nathan Pierce echoed that sentiment speaking of the “brief moment of surprise in public art” and how it can make one think about something in a different way. Questions from the audience rounded out the lively discussion.

The remaining photos are from the Opening Event held in the Rosemary Beach Town Hall Courtyard and followed by the Artists, Owners and Donors Party at the Rosemary Beach Owners Club and Pool.  The event was catered by Signature 30A, who prepared a stunning array of hors d’oeuvres and a signature drink made with rosemary (of course!). Music was provided by #1 Billboard Recording Artist, Michael J. Thomas whose smooth saxophone provided the perfect backdrop for the evening, a celebratory close to the opening week.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for these events.
